Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award

This annual award goes to the best book of children's poetry published in the United States in the preceding year. Co-sponsored with Mr. Hopkins, the University Libraries, the Pennsylvania Center for the Book, and additional sponsor, Pennsylvania School Librarians Association, 2008 marks the 16th anniversary of the award.

Letters About Literature

This nationwide writing event, cosponsored by Target and the Center for the Book at the Library of Congress, invites students to write a letter to an author -- living or dead -­ explaining how the author's book gave them wings and changed their way of viewing the world and themselves.

Public Poetry Project

The Public Poetry Project displays poetry in public places so that it might become part of the daily lives of a greater number of people.

What is Pennsylvania Reading?

Mother Goose Asks "Why?"
This program is a unique blend of literature and science, designed to help families of preschool children use thought-provoking picture books, activities and discussion to understand the process skills of science.

PIPS - Partners in Public Service Project
In the spring of 2001, the Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State hosted an exhibition of daguerreian photography. This companion Web site is the result of a collaborative effort among the Palmer Museum, the University Libraries and Penn State Public Broadcasting.
