Intellectual freedom is the right of every individual
to both seek and receive information from all points of view without
restriction. The library is sometimes the last sanctuary of this right,
especially in times of trouble, when restricting rights is done in the
name of national security.

Privacy and the USA PATRIOT Act
The USA PATRIOT Act expands the powers of the federal
government’s law-enforcing agencies when investigating terrorism,
foreign intelligence, or suspicions thereof. The Pennsylvania Center
