Abstract

Erika Rose Alexander, born November 19, 1969, in Winslow, Arizona, is an acclaimed actress, writer, and activist. She was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she attended the Philadelphia High School for Girls. Alexander gained recognition for her portrayal of Maxine Shaw on the hit sitcom Living Single (1993-1998) and Detective Latoya in Get Out (2017). She later expanded her work into writing and producing socially conscious media. She co-founded Color Farm Media and is a leading voice for creative inclusion and social justice.
