Abstract

Lucy Elmina Anthony, born October 24, 1859, in Fort Scott, Kansas, was a key figure in the suffrage movement as the niece and secretary of Susan B. Anthony. She moved to Media, Pennsylvania, in 1903 with her partner, suffrage leader Anna Howard Shaw. Their home in Pennsylvania became a hub for suffrage organizing. Anthony played a crucial role in managing campaigns and conventions for the National American Woman Suffrage Association. She continued her advocacy from Pennsylvania until her death on July 4, 1944, in Swarthmore.
